| Primarily designed as an affordable solution for airgunners wanting to enter the world of precharged pneumatics (PCPs), the LX-1 has ultimately delivered a rifle to satisfy both newcomers and experienced PCP users. It may have an entry-level price, but its performance and specification is just so much more... Incredibly lightweight - just 6 lbs. (2.7 kg) - the LX-1 is beautifully 'pointable' and easy to hold on aim. Charged via the supplied quick-fill plug-in probe, the rifle returns 70 usable full-power shots per air fill. And each shot gives astounding accuracy thanks to the LX-1's recoil-free firing cycle and free-floating barrel (German steel) that's been choked and threaded at the muzzle. The LX-1 comes with a shapely ambidextrous stock, complete with Schnabel-tipped fore-end and laser-cut chequering on the fore-stock and grip, while the butt pad is also height-adjustable to give the ultimate in 'gun fit'. Its light-style bolt - a new concept in 'quick-throw' cocking bolts - can easily be switched from the right to the left by way of a single screw, thus making the LX-1 a trueleft-handed rifle for those who shoot 'Southpaw'. And the rifle's 'shootability' factor is further increased by the removable 10-shot, rotary magazine that comes in the package. This indexes manually while the rifle is still in your shoulder to save on loading time - although the whole magazine carrier system can be swapped for the supplied single-shot loading tray in a few seconds using a single hex-headed key should you wish. The Prestige LX-1... categoric proof that 'inexpensive' doesn't have to mean 'entry level'. |
